Why This Works
Crossing the midline of your body (i.e. left to right and vice versa) requires hand-eye coordination, body awareness, muscular strength, and brain communication. It’s this brain communication piece that establishes and energizes the neural pathways that enhance cognitive skills for reading, writing, and computation. How? When both the left and the right hemispheres of our brains are forced to communicate (through these exercises) it paves the way for these neural pathways needed for higher learning, thinking, and problem-solving. Like any muscle, using our brain in these ways develops strength and refinement.
Add these quick, easy exercises to boost brain power at the start of your day, between tasks like going from your inbox to project planning or from carpool to dinner prep.
